Brisbane Broncos 25-24

80

What a tense finish! Walker opts to run it off the last play of the game but it fails as they are pushed into touch! Brisbane win!

Brisbane Broncos 25-24

78

Replays suggesting that Milford knocked the ball on before that field goal attempt.

Brisbane Broncos 25-24

78

Souths have 90 seconds to go 80m or nail a field goal, can they do it?

Brisbane Broncos 25-24

77

SUCCESSFUL FIELD GOAL BRISBANE BRONCOS: Field goal attempt by Anthony Milford successful.

Milford gets it! takes the low pass and snaps the field goal, just! Bribane by 1!

Brisbane Broncos 25-24

77

But the Rabbits lose the ball and Brisbane well into Souths territory and on the attack!

24 all

76

Now Milford misses from 20m out! Souths get the 7 tackle set now

24 all

75

From 25m out Walker misses! Oh boy that could be a costly miss. 7 tackle set for Brisbane

24 all

74

Both sides doing their best to make metres and get in field position and with that a flop gives a penalty to Souths! Is this the chance they needed?

24 all

71

This has been a crazy game and feel its going to get a little crazier in these final 9 minutes.

24 all

69

SUCCESSFUL CONVERSION BRISBANE BRONCOS: Conversion attempt by Anthony Milford successful.

Milford ties things up with the successful conversion.

24 all

69

TRY BRISBANE BRONCOS: Scored by Tautau Moga. Kick to come.

Milford slides past the Souths defence and looks certain to score but is denied by some desperate defence by the home side. The ball is popped out at the end of the tackle and scooped up by Moga who dives over! TRY!

South Sydney Rabbitohs 24-22

68

Knock on by Johnston from a Nikorima grubber gives Brisbane a set of six just 10m out from the Souths line

South Sydney Rabbitohs 24-18

66

Walker runs it on the last, he dinks a kick in behind the Brisbane defence, Mead bobbles it and loses it backwards, Goodwin picks it up but he has pushed Roberts out of the way and so that is a penalty and nullifies the try.

South Sydney Rabbitohs 24-18

65

McCullough has dropped the ball over the line when he looked for all money to have scored for the visitors. How big is this moment in the scheme of this match?

South Sydney Rabbitohs 24-18

64

Now another penalty for a high shot on Roberts, this will be a huge ask for the Souths defence.

South Sydney Rabbitohs 24-18

63

Brisbane cough the ball up on the last, but Burgess (George) hits Milford late and the Broncos get a penalty close to the line. Pressure...

South Sydney Rabbitohs 24-18

60

SUCCESSFUL CONVERSION SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS: Conversion attempt by Bryson Goodwin successful.

Goodwin nails the conversion and Souths have now scored 16 unanswered points!

South Sydney Rabbitohs 24-18

59

TRY SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS: Scored by Siosifa Talakai. Kick to come.

Take a bow Siosifa Talakai! He takes a ball close to the line and wriggles and fights to get the ball down! Its all the Rabbits at the moment!

South Sydney Rabbitohs 22-18

58

Now Oates drops the ball and Souths have another shot at the line. Strong defence forced that out.

18 all

57

Somehow this game has been turned on its head, Brisbane have their back to the wall again.

18 all

56

SUCCESSFUL CONVERSION SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS: Conversion attempt by Bryson Goodwin successful.

No issues for Goodwin, all locked up!

18 all

55

TRY SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS: Scored by Angus Crichton. Kick to come.

There it is! Angus Crichton with a strong carry after a sublime ball by Farah from dummy half. Souths are back!

Brisbane Broncos 18-16

54

Boyd cleans up Walker's grubber on the last and takes the safe option batted it dead. Six more tackles...

Brisbane Broncos 18-12

53

High tackle and a penalty to Souths who are on the attack!

Brisbane Broncos 18-12

51

UNSUCCESSFUL CONVERSION SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS: Conversion attempt by Bryson Goodwin unsuccessful.

Kick is no good and we have a six point game on our hands.

Brisbane Broncos 18-12

49

TRY SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS: Scored by Robert Jennings. Kick to come.

TRY! Walker goes to the air and the bat down goes to Jennings who slides on the outside and finishes on the outside!

Brisbane Broncos 18-12

47

But it all comes undone from a forward pass from Farah who has just recently come on the park.

Brisbane Broncos 18-8

47

Souths get a repeat set after a tidy kick from walker on the last. Bit of pressure being put on the Broncos now

Brisbane Broncos 18-8

43

UNFORCED ERROR SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS: Kyle Turner makes an unforced error.

A popped ball back on the inside is dropped by Turner

Brisbane Broncos 18-8

40

Second half is back underway here at ANZ stadium

Brisbane Broncos 18-8

40

Half time here at ANZ Stadium and the Souths fans aren't happy with the refs, but regardless the Broncos have a 18-8 lead courtesy of a Corey Oates double.
Join us back in 15 minutes for what promises to be a passionate second half.

Brisbane Broncos 18-8

39

Now quite bizarrely Milford has been taken off for a HIA (head injury assessment) after he completed the kick? How does that work. One of the more weirder things I've seen on a football field (or off it)

Brisbane Broncos 18-8

38

SUCCESSFUL PENALTY GOAL BRISBANE BRONCOS: Penalty goal attempt by Anthony Milford successful.

Brisbane opt for the penalty so close to the posts. Easy shot for Milford who makes it 18-8 with his 3rd goal of the game.

Brisbane Broncos 18-8

37

A rather innocuous last tackle play sees a penalty for a high tackle on Milford. Burgess can probably feel a little bit unlucky there, bit of a rough call as he hit Milford on the chest

Brisbane Broncos 16-8

34

After this recent flurry of points, Brisbane are firmly on toip and have a spring in their step. Souths struggling to make metres and look pretty fatigued out there.

Brisbane Broncos 16-8

33

SUCCESSFUL CONVERSION BRISBANE BRONCOS: Conversion attempt by Anthony Milford successful.

Easy conversion attempt for Milford who puts the lead outside a converted try.

Brisbane Broncos 16-8

32

TRY BRISBANE BRONCOS: Scored by Korbin Sims. Kick to come.

A bizarre try for the Broncos, Milford puts in a grubber which is deflected by Sutton who sticks his leg out. The ball is collected by Sims who was about 5m offside but due to the fact he was outside the 10m zone for the offside rule, he is put back onside and plants it down to get probably the easiest try of his career!

Brisbane Broncos 14-8

31

Peanlty to Brisbane 15m out, poor stuff from Souths in holding down in the play the ball area.

Brisbane Broncos 10-8

27

UNSUCCESSFUL CONVERSION BRISBANE BRONCOS: Conversion attempt by Anthony Milford unsuccessful.

The ball hits the crossbar and bounces away! Unlucky there for the Broncos number 6.

Brisbane Broncos 10-8

26

TRY BRISBANE BRONCOS: Scored by Corey Oates. Kick to come.

A replay of their first try! Catch and pass catches Souths defenders out of position and the ball ends up with Oates who slides over in the corner! Brisbane take the lead for the first time tonight.

Brisbane Broncos 10-8

25

Now the Broncos have a penalty just 10m out, great attacking opportunity for the visitors.

South Sydney Rabbitohs 8-6

25

Roberts snatches a loose ball from Souths and streaks away! However Johnston grounds him 30m out, Brisbane on the attack!

South Sydney Rabbitohs 8-6

21

SUCCESSFUL PENALTY GOAL SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS: Penalty goal attempt by Bryson Goodwin successful.

Goodwin corrects this time and sneaks the ball through the posts to give Souths a two-point lead

South Sydney Rabbitohs 8-6

20

Now with the return set from the drop out, Roberts tackles a Souths player without the ball and it will be another penalty for Souths.
Again the Rabbits will take the shot for goal.

6 all

19

UNSUCCESSFUL PENALTY GOAL SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS: Penalty goal attempt by Bryson Goodwin unsuccessful.

From 30m out he hooks it just to the left.

6 all

18

Now some ill-discipline from Brisbane gives Souths a shot at penalty goal to try and snatch the lead back.

6 all

14

SUCCESSFUL CONVERSION BRISBANE BRONCOS: Conversion attempt by Anthony Milford successful.

Milford takes over the goal kicking duties with no Kahu and he slides this one home. We're all locked up again at ANZ Stadium.

6 all

13

TRY BRISBANE BRONCOS: Scored by Corey Oates. Kick to come.

They do score! Brisbane hit back via Oates after some silky skills by Boyd out of the backfield. An acrobatic dive secures the Broncos four valuable points.

South Sydney Rabbitohs 6-4

13

And now a penalty has Souths under big pressure defensively deep inside its own half. Chance for Brisbane here, what can they do?

South Sydney Rabbitohs 6-0

12

A decent set by the Rabbits is undone by Walker on the last who kicks it out on the full and on tackle 1 the Broncos are already up to the half way line.

South Sydney Rabbitohs 6-0

8

There in again!! Or are they? It appears they're not. Walker with the bomb and he runs through and regathers his own kick in sublime fashion but Burgess and a few others are offside so the Broncos get a out of jail free card there.

South Sydney Rabbitohs 6-0

7

SUCCESSFUL CONVERSION SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS: Conversion attempt by Bryson Goodwin successful.

No mistakes from Goodwin who is a pretty decent player to have as your backup goal kicker! 6-0.

South Sydney Rabbitohs 6-0

6

TRY SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS: Scored by Damien Cook. Kick to come.

After all that defense Souths get the ball and a big up and under by Sutton near the Broncos line is spilled by Mead, ball is scooped up and passed to Cook who streaks away under the posts!

South Sydney Rabbitohs 4-0

6

Souths again do a good job of defending their try line after the Broncos make good metres to get a repeat set. That said, it was a disorganised set of six by the Broncos who look a tad disorganised in attack

0 all

3

Souths to their credit do well defending their own line, Hymel Hunt cleans up after a tame grubber by Milford on the last.

0 all

2

Not a good start for the home side who give away a penalty after a solid opening set. Offside the call from the referee.

KICK OFF! Here we go as Souths get first use of the football

0 all

Here come both sides onto ANZ Stadium, with kickoff imminent in this Round 8 fixture.
Both sides walking next to one another with ANZAC ceremonies set to take place before kickoff

Brisbane has won the last three against Souths by the tune of 107-30, however Souths have won two of the three meetings at ANZ Stadium

Got all that? Good! Not far away from the start here at ANZ Stadium. What are you predictions folks? Can Souths hit back? Or will it be all Brisbane?

As mentioned earlier, Souths have been thrown into a major re-shuffle with Adam Reynolds ruled out due to injury. This sees Cody Walker move to half-back and John Sutton shifting from the back row to five-eighth. Hymel Hunt replaces Braiden Burns on the wing. Furthermore, Kyle Turner goes from prop to the back row and George Burgess starts at prop, Cameron Murray will make his debut from the bench. Brisbane have changes with Jordan Kahu out with injury and is replaced by David Mead, Herman Essese starting at prop with Korbin Sims dropping to the bench as well as Sam Thaiday starting off the bench with Alex Glenn elevated to the starting side. Jonas Pearson joins the bench in jersey 21.

There has been dry conditions over Sydney this week which means the ANZ track should play pretty true in this match.
Talking of ANZ Stadium, the Broncos need just 15 points to reach 500 points scored at the Homebush venue.
There has been mixed success for the Broncos at this venue with a 12-12 record from 24 visits. Of course it was the venue of its 2006 premiership victory where it defeated the Melbourne Storm.

Good evening and welcome to League Unlimited's coverage of Friday Night football!
Tonight we have a tantalising fixture between Souths and Brisbane at ANZ Stadium.
The Rabbits are desperate to right the ship after a poor second half saw it fall 24-9 to the Bulldogs on Good Friday. With no Adam Reynolds it will face a stern test tonight against a Broncos outfit that is doing enough to win games at the moment despite not being at its best.
It sits in 6th and a victory coupled with some favourable results over the weekend could see it bounce back into the top four.
