Match Overview

The Sydney Roosters have turned on a masterclass at Allianz Stadium today to close out the NRL's Indigenous Round with a 48-10 win over Parramatta in front of over 10,000 fans.

On a weekend that featured several upsets and comebacks, the Roosters subverted the script with a domination of the Eels. Australian centre Blake Ferguson led the way with a hat-trick as the Bondi boys shared the scoring around like party pies.

All the damage for the Sydney Roosters was done in the first half, as they raced out to a 28-4 lead going into the break, thanks to tries from Latrell Mitchell, Jake Friend, Blake Ferguson and Daniel Tupou. The display was underlined by a sublime kicking performance from Michael Gordon who finished the contest with 8/10.

After the turbulent weekend across the NRL, the red, white and blue faithful welcomed this demolition which continued unabated in the second half as Tupou added another while Ferguson was the star with a hat-trick that needed to be confirmed with the bunker due to the difficult nature of his put-downs.

On a forgettable night for the blue and gold, there wasn't much to crow about as the Eels continue to be the NRL's mystery men - as you don't know which will turn up each weekend. This time it was ordinary side of the coin as their lone points came from Gutherson and Jennings crossing the whitewash.

The Eels' are now outside the top eight and will be up against the equally embarrassed Raiders next Saturday at ANZ, while the Roosters visit the same venue on Sunday when they're up against the enigmatic Canterbury.
