Cherry-Evans' left boot a hero as Manly down Warriors

v BYE

The left boot of Daly Cherry-Evans has snatched the win for his side tonight, as the Manly Sea-Eagles defeated the Warriors 15-14 at nib Stadium in Perth.

Conditions were horrible for rugby league - sheets of water covering the field, but the first half had a surprisingly high completion rate.

The Sea Eagles took an early 12-0 lead, after tries to Tom Trbojevic and Jorge Taufua, with Jamie Lyon kicking two goals.

19 year old Warrior Bunty Afoa picked up a first half double to even the scores, but a penalty against the Warriors in late in the half saw Jamie Lyon kick a penalty goal. Manly lead 14-12 at the break.

Issac Luke attempted to even the scores midway through the second half, however it wasn't until the 74th minute that the scores were tied.

Cherry-Evans attempted a field goal to win the game in the 80th minute, but it fell well short, and the game went to extra time.

Shaun Johnson then had a crack at a field goal of his own, but a brilliant chargedown and regather from Jake Trbojevic led to some great field position for his side.

In the 84th minute, a wrongfooted Cherry-Evans then snapped a left footed field goal to win the game for the Sea Eagles.

The Sea Eagles will take on the Rabbitohs next Monday night, while the Warriors face the Raiders in Canberra on Saturday afternoon.
