Wests Tigers statement: Kyle Lovett sanctions
Lovett was charged by NSW Police with possession of a small quantity of a prohibited substance on 23 December, 2016 and faced court on 1 February, 2017.
The 23 year old pleaded guilty to the charge and received a six-month good behaviour bond, while no conviction was recorded.
Lovett has since faced the Wests Tigers Board and the following sanctions are being imposed:
- A $15,000 fine payable to Wests Tigers Charity Partner beyondblue, with $10,000 of that suspended
- A four match suspension from any Wests Tigers game, with one game already being served at the NRL Auckland Nines and one at the trial match against the North Queensland Cowboys. The remaining two are to be served at the beginning of the 2017 NRL or Intrust Super Premiership seasons
- A six month commitment to rehabilitation and counseling sessions of Wests Tigers' choosing
- Six months community service
Wests Tigers will be making no further comment on the matter.
