Eels draw winning ticket at Lottoland!

v BYE

A big day at Lottoland sees Eels run out winners over the Sea Eagles 20-12!

In front of a crowd of 11,318, the game started with Manly placing pressure on the Eels early, with a try on debut for Brian Kelly!

It wasn't long before the Eels turned the tables. Corey Norman burst through the defense, and a possible try was sent to the video referee! The Eels got the green light and the scores were locked up at 6-all. Given a penalty in front of the posts, the Eels then opted for two, giving them a slight edge in front at 8-6.

Corey Norman kicked a lovely 40/20 from the 30m line in the Eels half to get them out of the Manly attack zone. From here, the Eels were awarded a penalty, and off the back of both the 40/20 and the penalty, Bevan French ran right through the defending Sea Eagles to put the visitors ahead 14-6.

Manly were having trouble getting themselves off their own line, with Marty Taupau losing the ball a number of times in the first half. With this, and the points scored against Manly, halftime was a sigh of relief for the hosts.

In the second half, the onslaught of the Eels did not stop. Diving over the line with a try was Gutherson, pushing the Eels up 18-6 soon after the resumption of play. Brookvale started to look like a slaughterhouse for Manly, as goal line dropout after goal line dropout continued, with the maroon and white struggling to get into the opposition half for more than ten minutes. Another penalty goal saw the Eels push their lead to 14 points soon after.

Slowly we saw the Sea Eagles make a slight comeback and with a late try to Blake Green in the 76th min. Given a scrum with 13 seconds to go in the match, it was their last chance - but they were tackled from the scrum, the game was over, and Parramatta had won by eight.

Next week the Eels are on the road again as they head to Wollongong to face the Dragons on Sunday evening, while the Sea Eagles are back at Lottoland, hoping their luck will change against a struggling Rabbitohs side on Saturday evening.
