Warriors V South Sydney

Warriors second row forward Awen Guttenbeil hopes that Sydney-based Warrior supporters turn out in numbers for this Saturday night's Round 14 game against the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

"The last time we played in Sydney was against Wests Tigers and the crowd started chanting for the Warriors," said Guttenbeil.

"It was an awesome thing to hear, it gave us a real boost to help us kick-on and win that game.

"It would be fantastic if Kiwis living in Sydney got out to support us when we take on the Rabbitohs, it would be a great occasion.

"Due to injury I can't be there but I hope 5,000 other Kiwis can," said Guttenbeil.

Guttenbeil will not play this weekend because of a slight calf strain but he hopes growing support for the Warriors will keep the Warriors pack moving forward in his absence.

Last week was a good week for the Warriors.

On Friday, franchise player Stacey Jones signed a new four-year deal with the club meaning he will remain a Warrior until he is 30-years of age. With PJ Marsh and Lance Hohaia already committed to long-term contracts the Warriors future looks solid.

On Sunday the Warriors set a new club record of 7 consecutive wins with their 34 - 6 defeat of the Cowboys.

The Vodafone Warriors team to play South Sydney Rabbitohs on Saturday is:

1. Ivan Cleary 2. Henry Fa'afili 3. John Carlaw 4. Clinton Toopi 5. Justin Murphy 6. Lance Hohaia 7. Stacey Jones (Captain) 8. Jerry Seuseu 9. PJ Marsh 10. Mark Tookey 11. Ali Lauiti'iti 12. Wairangi Koopu 13. Kevin Campion 14. Motu Tony 15. Richard Villasanti 16. Sione Faumuina 17. Justin Morgan

The game will be played at Aussie Stadium with kick-off at 7.30pm (AEST).
