Round 10 - Cbus Super Stadium, Robina / Yugambeh - Crowd: 10105

Match Overview

The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs have fought back from an early 16 point deficit, to beat the Gold Coast Titans 22-16 at Cbus Super Stadium this afternoon.

The Titans looked by far the better site in the open quarter of the match, with winger Dale Copley scoring twice on the left edge, and only being denied for a third by a cracking tackle from Reimis Smith.

Ash Taylor was on the money with the boot early, converting both tries, and kicking two penalty goals to give his side a 16-0 lead after only 18 minutes.

The Bulldogs opened their account with a try in the 26th minute, after Keiran Foran grubbered in behind the line for Montoya to pick up and plant the ball down.

Jayden Okunbor scored the first of his two tries 33 minutes in, which was then converted by Nick Meaney, and the Bulldogs trailed the Titans at the break.

The second half started with both sides trading blows, and it wasn't until Okunbor picked up his second try in the 61st minute that a gulf started to appear.

Foran was instrumental in his side's fightback, confusing plenty of Titans defenders with some clever running and passing.

Okunbor picked up his second try in the 61st minute, with Meaney converting to give the Bulldogs the lead. The Titans kept making the decision to kick towards Okonbur's wing, but he continually defused bomb after bomb, and brang his team out of danger.

Cogger, not to be outshone by Foran, grabbed a try of his own in the 70th minute, after some crafty play left a pile of defenders scratching their heads.

The Titans looked to have snatched back the lead in the dying minutes, but had two possible tries denied for knock-ons.

In the end, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs simply looked like a team who wanted the win more, and the final score told the tale.
