Souths survived a second half fightback from the Titans to remain undefeated in 2019, recording a 28-20 victory at ANZ Stadium.

From the very first set, Souths looked the superior side when Murray made a break on the third tackle of the game. At the end of the set, Reynolds' kick forced a Titans drop out. From the next set that Bunnies received a penalty and Reynolds kicked a penalty goal.

The Titans had a half chance shortly after when Peachey drew the defence and then sent Copley on a short break down the left touchline, before he kicked back in-field where it was blocked and knocked forward by Souths, 15 metres from the Bunnies line, however from the next set they turned the ball over cheaply from a poor flick pass.

The first try was scored after 15 minutes when Walker received the ball on the left side, he straightened up the defence and then sent a brilliant looping cut-out pass to Graham who dived over in the corner to score. Reynolds was unable to convert from touch.

The Bunnies were in again just 6 minutes later with a fairly similar try when Reynolds on the right side, saw Copley race up, so he fired a long ball across to Allan who scored in the right corner. Reynolds added the extras.

Two minutes later, with Burns down injured, the Titans struck when Kelly burrowed over, just managing to get the ball on the line for a try. Gordon was unable to convert.

In the 31st minute Souths kept the ball alive to add to their score. Walker drifted across to the right, dropped a pass inside to Johnston, who quickly sent it to Lowe who strolled over for a try to the right of the sticks. Reynolds added another 2.

Right on halftime, Souths were on the attack when Cook threw a flat pass which was intercepted by Copley. The Titans winger raced 45 metres to score. Gordon was unable to convert.

Souths started the second half much like the first, with early points. Nicholls got away an offload that hit the deck. Reynolds picked it up and darted off, avoided a few tackles on the right side, before passing left. The ball got to Walker who kicked for the corner and Graham, with a brilliant regather at top speed, somehow gets the ball planted for a try before going dead. Reynolds converts from out wide.

In the 59th minute, the Titans hit back after Jacks' almost nonchalant kick, but Kelly came flying through to catch the ball and score to the right of the posts. Gordon added the extras.

6 minutes later the Titans were in again off a kick when Brimson put up a bomb. James tapped it back to Peachey, who passed it back in-field, which was intercepted by Lowe, but Don stripped it legally and fell over the line to score in the right corner. Gordon converted to reduce the margin to just 4 points.

Reynolds added a penalty goal with 10 minutes remaining.

Play from both sides opened up in the final ten minutes, but neither side could trouble the scoreboard. A penalty to the Bunnies right on fulltime saw Reynolds add another 2 points to seal the win.
