Illawarra too good for the Burleigh in massive win

v BYE

The Illawarra Cutters have won NSW's first Intrust Super Championship in the concept's third year, following a 54-12 victory over Burleigh.

From the start the Cutters looked to have had the game in the bag with a halftime scoreline of 30-0 with Shaun Nona kicking 5/5, finishing eventually with 9/9 overall. For Jason Demetriou, Tyrone McCarthy and Shaun Nona this is their second triumph after all playing in the Northern Prides 2014 victory in its first year.

Shaun Nona was on fire from the get-go kicking a 40/20 within the first 5 minutes, Not to mention he had 3 Try assists and 18 points overall from all his conversions. Without go Shaun Nona did give away that field position by throwing an intercept the set after the 40/20 he didn't stop there, running down Connor Broadhurst for 30 metres and stripping it off him, leading to the flood gates opening for the Cutters.

Shannon Wakeman was the first with Silivi Havili and Kalifa Faifai Loa following but denied by the video Ref. It didn't take much longer for another try to go through Damian Sironen in the 22nd Minute.

A couple minutes later saw Adam Quinlan score with a number of passes through Drew Hutchison, Taane Milne and Kalifa Faifai Loa. 30 minutes through and another try as big prop, Jacob Host furthered the score to 24-0. 3 minutes before half time Chris Lewis jumped on a Shaun Nona grubber to make the score 30-0 at halftime.

There wasn't stopping the Cutters after the Half time siren when Hutchison went in just 4 minutes into the second half to make it 36-0. 27 Minutes left in the game and Silivi Havili went into make it 42-0 from a dummy-half scoot. Kurt Mann went in to score the next try when he barged his way through the Bears pack.

Finally the Bears put a score on the board through a barnstorming run by Josh Ailaomai in the 61st minute. They added a second consolidation try  through Kurtis Rowe in the final minute to make it 54-12. Luke Page added a ceremonial conversion after the siren.
